Everald Brown
Born – 1917 in Rural Clarendon, Jamaica. Died – 2003
His art, often described as primitive, having been self-taught artist was very unique. His paintings are often described as ‘Visionary’. The imagery in his paintings are said to have been interpretations on visions that often came to him during what he called his “travels”. Aside from his paintings, Brown was also well known for his symbolically shaped & decorated musical instruments ; most famous was his ‘Star Banjo’ & ‘Dove Harp’.
